Please note. Entries are only accepted when payment has been received, cash/cheque/bank transfer/online. Unrated players will be asked to give evidence of their playing strength or they may be moved to a higher section or withdrawn. Please enter early. A late payment fee becomes payable on August 8th.

Rate of Play

Each player will have 15 minutes plus a 10 second increment per move from move 1.

The venue is 20 minutes walk from the train station - up a very steep hill !.

Cathedral Cafe is available and there is car parking within walking distance but not on-site.

Refreshments

Refreshments will be available on site. If you wish to explore the beautiful Cathedral you can purchase an entry on the door

Rating

The August ECF Rapidplay Rating List will be used to determine a player’s rating. For players who do not appear in the Rapidplay List, other lists may be used at the discretion of the organisers. Ungraded players must provide evidence for the organisers to assess their playing strength and any previous known grade must be declared.

Grading Information – It is a condition of entry that players agree to their grading information being published on the ECF website.

Prizes

The organisers reserve the right to redistribute in whole or in part any prize won by a competitor who has won or shared a prize. As always we will endeavour to provide some prizes for all junior entrants too

Pairings

No re-pairing if an opponent does not appear on time - the clock run-off will be deciding factor

COVID Arrangements

  • If there are government restrictions at the time of the event, they will apply at the Rapidplay
  • Spectators, and players who have finished their game, can relax, analyse, eat refreshments in the well-equipped Cafe or enjoy a seat in the Cloisters https://lincolncathedral.com/.
