CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:
Entries received after Friday 8 September 2023, if accepted, will require additional £5 late entry fee.
Entries received after 22:00 Saturday 9 September 2023, if accepted, will require additional £10 'On the day fee'.
Contact details will be stored on a computer for sending out details of future events organised by www.chessentriesforall.com.
A player may withdraw at any point up to close of early bird entry, Friday 8 September subject to a £7 administration fee.  Withdrawal subsequent to this date forfeits the full entry fee.
The organisers reserve the right to:
Redistribute, in whole or in part, any prize won by a competitor who has won or shared a prize.Transfer entrants between Minor or Major sections.
Withhold prizes from ungraded players if they play in events below their known strength.
Take any other measures deemed necessary to ensure the smooth running of the congress.
Pairings
In all sections players will be paired using Swiss-Manager.  Pairings will be posted at http://www.chess-results.com/ and at the venue.  No discussion will be entered into concerning the pairings.
All boards in all sections will play using digital clocks at a rate of game/5 minutes and zero increments.
Nobody gets knocked out and players are expected to play all nine rounds.
If a player needs to leave early, please inform the controllers prior to leaving or upon your arrival if possible.
Rating
Players' ratings will be determined by using (in order) FIDE Blitz/ ECF Blitz/ ECF Rapid/ ECF Standard/ FIDE Standard.
Unrated players must provide evidence for the organisers to assess their playing strength and any previous known rating must be declared (players who have never been rated do not need to).
Rating Information - It is a condition of entry that players agree to their rating information being published on the FIDE and ECF website.
If you do not have a FIDE ID, you will automatically have a FIDE ID created with England as your National Federation, if you wish to have an alternative then please contact your preferred National Federation before the event. At present, changing your nationality with FIDE will cost you money, so make sure you are listed with the Federation that you wish to belong to.
Other Information
No player may win more than one prize.
In the Major section, in the event of a tie for a money prize, money prizes will be shared equally among those that tied.
If a player would like to play to gain experience, try a tournament for their first time, are new to chess, have not played much chess, are a beginner they should enter the minor section unless their rating is above 1300.
If you are unsure of which section to enter, the organiser will put you in the best suited section e.g. your rating is 1050 and you have entered the FIDE Major then we will move you to the FIDE Minor.
If you are able to volunteer to help in the playing hall during play on the day with controlling, please email us at:   admin@chessentriesforall.com.  Little chess knowledge and no experience is required to help with controlling as we will email you a clear list of duties, there will be more experienced and a qualified FIDE Arbiter present to assist should you need it.
Free Parking at the school.
All mobile phones / Fitbits / smartwatches / alarms must be turned off and not on your person during play.
No Refreshments at the venue.  There are food places nearby and a convenience store a short 5 minute walk away.  Otherwise, you may bring any snacks and drinks with you, but please NO NUTS.
A day or two before the event we will email all entrants players details and other useful information, please check your details are correct and let us know of any errors or omissions.
Disputes must be resolved before a player leaves the tournament hall and in all cases the decision of the arbiter is final.
