We are very keen to encourage female players and will give them £10 cash back at the venue. We welcome unrated and new players. We have three sections and we recommend playing in the Intermediate section.
Sections
There are 3 sections, Intermediate (U1550), Challengers (1500-1950), and Expert (1900-2350).
As there are only 40 spaces, we suggest you enter as soon as possible to guarantee a place.

The venue is less than 5 minutes walk from Potters Bar station, just 15 minutes away from Finsbury Park, and 20 minutes away from King's Cross.
Our venue provides light snacks and has a bar. There are plenty of convenience stores, restaurants and take-aways situated close to the venue
The FIDE standard rating from the monthly Rating Lists will be used to determine a player’s tournament rating. If they don't have a FIDE rating, we will use their ECF rating. For players who do not appear in the List, other lists may be used at the discretion of the organisers.
Rating Information – It is a condition of entry that players agree to their rating information being published on the ECF & FIDE websites. If key information from a player's profile is missing, the English Chess Federation may invoice them.
Default time is 20 minutes after the start of each round.
